Waco Midway vs Leander Rouse 2026

Midway four star running back Lathan Whisenton faces off against Rouse QB Chase Whitten.

Waco Midway opened its 2026 season with a strong defensive performance, shutting out Leander Rouse 19-0 on August 27 at UMHB's Crusader Stadium. The Panthers struck first with a touchdown from four star Notre Dame running back commit Lathan Whisenton in the first quarter and continued to build their lead with points in every quarter. Adding a TD in the third quarter was 2027 WR Hayden Brock taking a slant to the house from midway quarterback William Cort Strickland IV.

Midway's defense was the story of the night, holding the Raiders scoreless and limiting Rouse quarterback C. Whitten to 67 passing yards. Rouse found some success on the ground, including 95 rushing yards from A. Dickson, but could not turn its drives into points.

The Panthers (1-0) will now face off against Aledo (0-1) losing to North Crowley in week 1.

The Rouse Raiders now 0-1, will head to Georgetown for a week 2 matchup on Friday.
