Midway opened October with a strong 33-13 district victory over Temple on Friday, October 2, at Midway Panther Stadium. The Panthers established control early and carried that momentum throughout the night, using a productive ground game and timely defensive stops to build their advantage. The win moved Midway to 5-1 on the season and extended its winning streak to three games, while Temple continued to compete despite facing a Midway team that entered the matchup among the stronger programs in the area.

On a very rainy night Notre Dame running back commit Lathan Whisenton once again provided a major spark for the Panthers, rushing for 145 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries, averaging 7.2 yards per attempt. Midway also received contributions from Jaylen McClinton and Desmond Thompson. As a team, Midway produced 194 rushing yards, 114 passing yards and 114 receiving yards, showing an effective balance while keeping Temple's defense under pressure.

Temple continued to battle offensively behind quarterback Kylan Basinger, who passed for 179 yards and a touchdown while adding 51 rushing yards on six carries. Basinger gave the Wildcats a consistent presence both through the air and on the ground, helping Temple put 13 points on the board despite Midway's defensive pressure. The Wildcats' effort kept them competitive, and their ability to continue fighting through a difficult stretch will be important as they move forward in district play. Midway, meanwhile, will look to build on the victory as the Panthers continue their push near the top of District 12-6A.
