Harker Heights vs Lake Belton 2026

Harker Heights leaned on a strong rushing attack and a determined defensive effort to defeat Lake Belton 20-10 on Thursday, October 1, at Leo Buckley Stadium. The Knights controlled the game with their physical ground game, while Lake Belton’s defense continued to battle and keep the Broncos within reach throughout the night. Harker Heights quarterback H. Humble completed 11 of 17 passes for 102 yards, while wide receiver Ryan Taylor contributed five receptions for 41 yards. The Knights’ ability to stay balanced offensively helped them make the most of their opportunities and secure an important district victory.
Running back Brandon Fowlkes Jr. delivered one of the night’s biggest individual performances for Harker Heights, rushing 27 times for 257 yards. Jasiah Bryant also provided a boost on the ground, adding 78 rushing yards and a touchdown as the Knights consistently created opportunities in the running game. The performance gave Harker Heights a strong offensive foundation and helped the Knights bounce back with a 20-10 victory after their previous loss to Dripping Springs.
Lake Belton showed plenty of resilience despite coming up short, with quarterback Jessiah James completing 9 of 20 passes for 71 yards, while running back James Maiwo carried eight times for 48 yards. Wide receiver Brock Von Racjs was James’ leading receiver, finishing with five catches for 40 yards. The Broncos’ defense also deserves credit for limiting Harker Heights to 20 points in what became a much more defensive contest than the offensive fireworks many expected.
