The Westlake Chaparrals delivered a strong performance at home Friday night for their annual homecoming game, defeating the McNeil Mavericks 70–6 in a District 25-6A matchup. Westlake set the tone early with an aggressive special-teams and defensive effort, as Holden Helms blocked a punt that Colton Fromberg recovered for a touchdown for the first score of the game. Freddie Tester added another defensive touchdown by recovering a fumble and returning it to the end zone. The Chaparrals carried a commanding 35–0 lead into the second quarter, demonstrating their ability to capitalize on opportunities and create momentum on multiple sides of the ball.

Westlake continued to find success offensively, finishing with 353 total yards, including 249 rushing yards. Quarterback Patton Jones completed five of seven passes for 75 yards and connected with Braden Riddell for two touchdown receptions. Jones also contributed two rushing touchdowns, while eight different Westlake players reached the end zone. Fromberg stood out on defense as well, recording two sacks in addition to his fumble-return touchdown. The Chaparrals' balanced contributions from their offense, defense, and special teams helped them turn a fast start into a convincing district victory.

Despite the difficult result, McNeil showed determination by continuing to compete against a talented Westlake squad and finding the end zone for six points. The Mavericks finished with 174 total yards, including 43 rushing yards and 131 passing yards, working to move the ball against a defense that consistently limited their opportunities.

Westlake (6-1) prepares for a huge matchup against Lake Travis next Friday who enters the Battle of The Lakes at (3-2-1).
